Clinic Highlight: Pulmonary

The Pulmonary and Sleep Apnea Clinics are managed and provided by the faculty of the Department of Cardiorespiratory Care at the University of South Alabama (USA). Since its inception, the Pulmonary and Sleep Apnea Clinics have been provided free of charge to patients due to the generosity of a local foundation. The Pulmonary Clinic provides assessment, testing, evaluation, and treatment plans for patients with asthma and COPD. Some of these patients also have pre-existing occupational lung diseases such as asbestosis and lung cancer. In 2009, the Pulmonary Clinic added sleep apnea evaluation and treatment to its services. Patients with symptoms of sleep disorder are evaluated and tested for sleep apnea. A local physician interprets the test results and prescribes the appropriate treatments. If indicated, the patients receive a free CPAP machine for continuous use at home. In 2019, the Pulmonary Clinic provided care to over 350 patients.

Thank you to University of South Alabama respiratory therapists for helping our more than 19,500 patients breathe a little easier.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
